Mrs Fiona Bateson is a highly skilled and caring Chief Clinical Audiologist with over 30 years’ experience both in the NHS and private practice, specialising in children’s hearing, Tinnitus and Digital Hearing Aids.

Clinical interests

Mrs Bateson has over 30 years clinical experience in diagnostic audiology on adults and children with hearing or vestibular difficulty ranging from normal hearing to mild and profound hearing loss.

Her clinical interests and specialist area is Paediatric audiology assessments, including all children’s hearing problems and Tinnitus in adults and children.

She prides herself in giving long term rehabilitative care and support to patients of all ages and their families whether it’s for a hearing or balance problem.

Academic background

Mrs Bateson has worked in the NHS and privately for over 30 years.

She qualified as a Clinical Audiologist from Charing Cross Hospital and UCL in 1991 and worked in the NHS in Hertfordshire and Essex, becoming Head of Service with the Princess Alexandra NHS Trust in 1994 before moving to East & North Herts NHS Trust and Addenbrookes Hospital as Chief Clinical Audiologist.

Her passion for excellence in patient care has been her primary driving force in her work which encouraged her to start her own private practice early on in her career and says she is delighted to have recently received two very special awards for her practice, The Hearing Practice.

This has been voted the "Best Audiology Clinic in Hertfordshire 2017" Award and "Best Tinnitus Specialist in Hertfordshire 2017" Award.

She regularly attends meetings and conferences, updating her skills in Audiology and lectures to GP’s and other Specialists.

She is a regular specialist guest on BBC Three Counties Radio, is an Ambassador for the British Tinnitus Association and runs three free local Tinnitus Support Groups across Hertfordshire in her spare time.
